Free agent Isaiah Thomas was just settling in with Washington Wizards when the team decided to ship him to the Los Angeles Clippers right before the trade deadline last February.

As it turns out, the team was even set to treat him with his own bobblehead night right before the deal went down. The 31-year-old diminutive guard shared the tale on his Twitter on Sunday.

The Clippers, meanwhile, were already stacked at the guard position and decided to waive Thomas just two days after acquiring him.

Isaiah Thomas' stock was not as high as it was once entering the 2019-20 NBA regular season. The 5-foot-9 lefty had to overcome a series of serious injuries that forced him to make just 44 appearances in the last three seasons.

After his magnificent tenure with the Boston Celtics from 2014-2017, Thomas had brief stops with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Denver Nuggets. He signed a one-year, $1,402,512 contract to play with the Wizards over the summer.

Thomas suited up in 40 games for the Wizards and had decent averages of 12.2 points and 3.7 assists while knocking down 40.8 percent of his field goals, 41.3 percent of his threes, and 81.6 percent of his free throwsthe foul line.

The two-time All-Star has been without an NBA team since being dropped by the Clippers.

The undersized guard has always been a liability on the defensive side of the ball — even during the height of his success in Boston. The Clips, being a defensive-minded squad, did not have plans to keep him at all.

Thomas, however, proved with the Wizards this season that he can still score with the best of them.

NBA teams, meanwhile, will have more time to evaluate adding a player of Thomas' caliber, especially with the ongoing suspension expected to last at least two months.
