Washington Wizards point guard John Wall is about to end his free agent status in the shoe endorsement market. According to Neil Dalal of Hoop District DC, Wall is on the verge of inking a new deal with Adidas.

The length and the amount of Wall’s looming contract with Adidas have not been revealed, but it should be noted that the former No. 1 overall pick has had a deal with the sports apparel giant before. John Wall signed a deal with Adidas in his third season in the NBA, even getting a pair of signature Adidas shoes (J Wall 1 and J Wall 2).

Since Wall’s first contract with Adidas expired in 2015, he has not signed with any shoe company, thus leaving him the freedom to wear any pair of sneakers he wants on the court. Wall would still have been with Adidas to this day if he had not rejected a $7.5 million offer upon the expiration of his first contract.

As noted by Dalal in his report, John Wall wanted a deal that is on the same ballpark as James Harden’s 13-year, $200 million contract, but Adidas apparently was not ready to invest that much money in him then.

Should Wall and Adidas finally agree to a deal, his Wizards teammates probably would be expecting another set of gifts from the 27-year-old court general.
