This NBA offseason has seen a lot of movement around the league. Players have changed addresses left and right, and the entire landscape of The Association has been shaken up like a snow globe. Washington Wizards guard John Wall, however, would rather stay put on one team for his entire career.

In an interview with Michael Lee of The Athletic, Wall said he wants to play for the Wizards his entire career:

“I’m not one of those guys that wants to play for multiple teams. I want to play for one organization. If it comes down to it, where you have to move around and it don’t work, they’re giving me the opportunity to come back, not this year but next year after, if I don’t play well, you trade me. I can’t be mad at nobody because they gave me the opportunity and I gave myself a chance to prove myself. That’s all I ask for.”

Wall went on to say he will never ask for a trade:

“Never will you hear me ask for a trade. The only way I’m going to get traded from D.C. is if they want to trade me themselves. And that’s one thing I think the fans will appreciate, if they ever get to that point.”

Wall also spoke extensively about the situations of Kawhi Leonard and Russell Westbrook. Likewise, he also reiterated he isn't the type of person to chase a ring or perhaps team up with other stars on another team, as some of his peers did this summer.

Nevertheless, as he acknowledged, the Wizards can trade Wall anytime. They'd arguably do it in a heartbeat should they find a team willing to eat up his atrocious contract. Wall's current max deal, which he signed in 2017, will kick in this coming season. He is set to make $171 million dollars over the next four seasons.

To make matters worse, the former No. 1 overall pick has already been ruled out for the entire 2019-20 season as he continues to recover from a potentially career-altering ruptured Achilles tendon. As history has written out, players who have suffered that kind of injury have struggled to return to their previous forms.
