Washington Wizards guard Russell Westbrook is not yet done breaking records. His latest target? Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird.

On Wednesday in their narrow loss to the Atlanta Hawks, Westbrook recorded 34 points, five rebounds and 15 assists. While he failed to add more to his triple-double tally, he did surpass Bird on the all-time scoring list.

The Wizards star entered the contest at 21,779 points, needing only 13 to surpass Larry Bird's tally during his 13-year NBA career. Sure enough, with Bradley Beal still sidelined due to a hamstring injury, Russell Westbrook had  all the opportunity to score–which he took advantage of.

For what it's worth, this latest feat comes after Westbrook recorded a 28-13-21 triple-double against the Hawks last Monday to officially break his tie with Oscar Robertson for the most triple-doubles in the history of the league.

While both record-breaking games ended in a loss for the Wizards, Westbrook should still hold his head high for his recent accomplishments. After all, it is no easy feat to record triple-doubles and score at a consistent pace like the other all-time greats. Only a select few NBA players were able to do it, and Russ is one of them.

Amid his epic streak, there have been a lot of talks about Westbrook's place in NBA history among the best point guards. Brodie is yet to win an NBA championship, but that shouldn't be taken against him and people should simply appreciate the greatness and grit he has been showing on a daily basis.
