Washington Wizards point guard John Wall will undergo arthroscopic surgery in his knee, keeping him out about two months, and teammate Markeiff Morris is right there to support him.

Morris, per Jacob Bogage of the Washington Post, offered words of encouragement to Wall after he learned that the Wizards point guard would be going under the knife and miss significant time.

Morris and Wall have played together for the last few years. The two players are important pieces on the Wizards, and they play off each other quite often on the basketball floor.

It's great to see Morris support his teammate during a difficult time. Wall has played through that injury for much of the season, and something was going to have to happen in order to address his knee issue.

The good news is just what Morris said. Wall getting the surgery now rather than later gives him a great opportunity to get back by the time the playoffs start.

But there's one problem, and it's not small. The Wizards are 27-22 and sixth in the Eastern Conference. The team in the eighth spot, the Philadelphia 76ers, are 24-23.

The Wizards are only two games ahead in the loss column of the 76ers. Plus, the Detroit Pistons are ninth with 26 losses, and they just traded for Blake Griffin.

So Wall being out at this point of the season is also very significant. If the Wizards slide too much, they're out of the playoffs, and there will be no team for Wall to come back to.

The rest of the team will really have to step up, like Morris said, to avoid that fate.
