It seems like Denver Nuggets president Tim Connelly might lead a new franchise soon.
According to Fred Katz of The Athletic, the Washington Wizards offered Connelly their president of basketball operations post. Connelly also met with team owner Ted Leonsis in Washington to discuss the opportunity.

Connelly has a history with the Wizards. He got his start with the franchise and was the team's director of player personnel in 2000.
Connelly moved up in the ranks with the New Orleans Hornets and the Nuggets and eventually became president of basketball operations in Denver. He played a key role in constructing the roster that would end the team's five-year playoff drought this 2019.
Now, Washington will hope he can do the same for their team. While the Wizards made the playoffs last year, they finished with a record of 32-50 this season and were one of the league's biggest disappointments.
If Connelly is indeed hired, he will have to shape a roster around dynamic guard John Wall, who signed a monster four-year contract with the team in 2017. The Wizards also have an intriguing piece in Bradley Beal, and trade rumors involving the shooting guard have been flying since the regular season took a bad turn in Washington.
The fact of the matter is that whoever takes the job in Washington has a lot to work on. The Wizards will hope that if Connelly does come on, he can replicate the success he had with the Nuggets.
