The Washington Wizards are having a disappointing season so far. They've lost star guard John Wall to a season-ending injury, and they're in danger of missing the playoffs.

Many people have already suggested that the Wizards should just break their current roster up and start a full rebuild beginning with next year's draft, especially since guys like Zion Williamson and R.J. Barrett are expected to declare availability.

However, Wizards team owner Ted Leonsis still believes in his team. He has made it clear that Washington is still keen on making the playoffs:

He also used the Philadelphia 76ers as an example on why he's not really a fan of tanking:

The Wizards still have plenty of time to figure things out. Although they're currently 11th in the Eastern Conference standings, they entered play Thursday just two games behind the eighth-seeded Charlotte Hornets.

Bradley Beal, who has become the Wizards' primary option on offense, is averaging 24.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists while shooting 47.3 percent from the field. Although he has been involved in multiple trade rumors, Beal remains focused on leading this team in Wall's absence.

If the Wizards really intend on making a last-ditch effort to make the playoffs this year, they should be looking for trades that will help the team improve. Beal will not be able to carry this team on his own.

However, if the Wizards do make the playoffs, more questions will arise. What happens if they get eliminated in the first round for the second straight year? Will they keep both Beal and Wall beyond this season?

The Wizards are stuck in the middle of nowhere. They're not good enough to contend for a title and might not even make the playoffs, but they're not bad enough to guarantee a high lottery pick.

What happens from this point and beyond seems to be a mystery.

All that's certain is they want to make the playoffs, which is up in the air at this point.
