The Washington Wizards will have to consider trading Bradley Beal if he doesn’t sign the extension they already offered him and if he doesn’t sign an extension next offseason either.

The Wizards can't afford to lose Beal for nothing, who currently has two years left on his deal.

A rival front office member says Beal “fits on every team” and could make a contender a title favorite:

“This league is wide open,” one person who works in a rival front office told Fred Katz of The Athletic. “Take any of the what, eight contenders, right now. I think if you add an All-Star to any of them, they become the title favorite. Everyone is hungrier than ever to win. Sure you could trade for Kevin Love, Blake (Griffin), maybe (DeMar) DeRozan, but they all come with question marks. Bradley Beal fits on every team. He’s 26 with two years left under contract and you’d expect him to be available soon.”

Bradley Beal is one of the best shooting guards in the NBA. He averaged 25.6 points, 5.0 rebounds and 5.5 assists last season for the Wizards while shooting 47.5 percent from the field, 35.1 percent from beyond the arc and 80.8 percent from the free-throw line.

The Miami Heat are reportedly enamored with Beal and want to pair him next to Jimmy Butler in South Beach. So far, the Wizards haven't made Beal available in trade talks, but that could change if the two-time All-Star doesn't sign an extension with the team.
