Russell Westbrook had a field day on Monday as the Washington Wizards secured a huge win over the Indiana Pacers, 154-141. Russ produced another mind-numbing triple-double en route to doubling a record previously held by the great Wilt Chamberlain.

Westbrook finished Monday's win with 14 points, 21 rebounds, and 24 assists, making him the only player in NBA history to achieve such an astounding stat line twice in his career (h/t Tim MacMahon of ESPN):

There's nothing more we can say about Westbrook that hasn't already been said before. He's been nothing short of amazing, and his achievement on Monday serves as another feather in his cap. We're all just lucky to bear witness to Westbrook's unquestionable greatness.

Perhaps even more important than his personal statistical feats, however, is the fact that these have translated to wins for the Wizards. They notched another victory on Monday against an Indiana team that is also gunning for a postseason spot in the East. Monday's win allowed Washington to close the gap on the ninth-seeded Pacers as well as the Charlotte Hornets who are currently eighth.

The Wizards had a horrible start to the season, but they have turned it around of late. They have placed themselves in a rather surprising position in the conference as they now look to secure their place in the playoffs. It's anything but guaranteed right now, but the fact that they're even in contention is truly an impressive feat from this squad. Needless to say, Westbrook's epic form has played a significant role in his team's recent run.
