“Shit Happens.” That's what Washington Wizards star Russell Westbrook had to say after their team lost to the Boston Celtics in the play-in tournament.

Shit indeed happens, Mr. Westbrook. For hapless Wizards fans watching at home, it came in the human form of Jayson Tatum. The Celtics stud poured in 50 huge points to bury D.C. in the second half.

The 3-for-21 shooting is just a ghastly figure, especially in a pseudo-elimination game for the Wizards. Although, the struggles from deep track as they were one of the worst-shooting teams from downtown. Washington made the third least threes per game (10.2), took the second least attempts (29.0), and made them at a below average clip of 35.1% which was good for 23rd in the NBA.

But making three shots from long-range on 21 attempts rates out to a horrific 14.3%. Jayson Tatum by himself made more with his five total threes. So did Kemba Walker, who made six threes and flanked Tatum with 29 points.

It didn't help that the team's best three-point shooter in Davis Bertans truly did lay an egg, going zero for seven from distance. Westbrook did nothing to help the cause either, as the Wizards point guard made none of his four attempts either.

The Wizards will get another crack at in against the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night.
