The Washington Wizards pulled off a surprising upset of the Denver Nuggets on Sunday, and a disgruntled Nuggets fan made sure to let Wizards guard Bradley Beal know just how frustrated he was after the game.

Beal had a rather comical response as evidenced by the shrug and sly grin that comes across his face, which almost immediately prompted the fan to say “I'm just kidding.”

The NBA has dealt with a number of issues regarding fan interactions with the players, including multiple incidents involving Russell Westbrook. However, this encounter was more humorous than disdainful, and Beal handled the ordeal quite well.

Washington handed Denver just their seventh home loss of the year.

Beal is in the midst of the best season of his career, averaging 26 points, 5.5 assists, and five rebounds while shooting nearly 48 percent from the field. The 25-year-old All-Star recently made headlines for calling himself the second-best shooting guard in the NBA behind James Harden.

With John Wall succumbing to a litany of injuries in the past two years–including a ruptured left achilles tendon that will keep him out until February of next season–much has been made about Beal's future with the Wizards.

Wall's recent extension with Washington will pay him over $42 million on average until 2023, but Beal has arguably been the more reliable superstar in the past few years.

Beal is under contract through the next two seasons, but should he make an All-NBA team this year, he will qualify for a supermax extension.

Although he had previously stated he would like to spend the rest of his career in D.C., Beal has recently said he is unsure about whether or not he would sign a supermax.
