After starting off the 2023 WNBA season in poor fashion, the Minnesota Lynx have begun to play much better. A big part of that reason is they are finally getting healthy after having several key players on the Lynx injury report. The got rookie sensation Diamond Miller back after she missed about a month due to an ankle injury. They also got good news on veteran wing Aerial Powers. Now it appears they will add another member of the team back to the lineup. Jessica Shepard has been on the Lynx injury report as she's been dealing with a non-Covid illness. But she is set to return to the court this week as per Mitchell Hansen of Winsidr.

Jessica Shepard has emerged as a crucial part of the Lynx rotation the past couple of seasons and having her back in the lineup will be huge for a team trying to hold on to a playoff spot. The Lynx are 10-13 are currently in seventh place in the playoff picture. Shepard provides the Lynx with additional size in the frontcourt and a good defensive player.

Before Jessica Shepard was sidelined with her illness, she was the Lynx's starting center. She has played in nine games so far this season averaging a career-high 9.3 points per game, 9.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists with splits of 53.2 percent shooting from the field and 78.3 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

Shepard was selected with the No. 14 overall pick by the Lynx in the 2019 WNBA Draft. This is her fourth season in the league.
