The New York Jets just can't catch any breaks over the past couple of seasons. After drafting Alijah Vera-Tucker, the duo of he and Mekhi Becton looked to be a dynamic one. Unfortunately, Becton suffered an injury in Week 1, and now is expected to be out 4-8 weeks as he is set to undergo surgery, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

This is a massive blow for the Jets and rookie quarterback Zach Wilson as they lost an absolute beast upfront and will try and find a patch option for the next two months maximum. Becton got carted off in the Jets season opener against the Carolina Panthers and now they have terrible news regarding his timeline.

Zach Wilson played decent in his NFL debut, but you have to imagine losing a stud offensive line talent such as Becton will get to him a little bit.

The Jets schedule won't get any easier, either, especially in the tough AFC East. Robert Saleh's team plays the New England Patriots on Sunday and one has to wonder if they try and find a free agent option for the next month, at least, until Becton can make his return to the field after surgery.
