LeBron James has evaded any serious repercussions after violating the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols. The Los Angeles Lakers star was caught partying with Drake and Michael B. Jordan in honor of some tequila brand.
But the league didn't just give LeBron James a slap on the wrist. They let him off absolutely scot-free.
Now we all know what motivated the league to keep LeBron James available for the Lakers' first-round series against the Phoenix Suns. But Mr. Krabs here can probably surmise the matter best in just four words.

But for all we know, LeBron James might have been extremely repentant behind the scenes. His eye ordeal during the Warriors-Lakers play-in game might have actually been a coded message for NBA commissioner Adam Silver.
For all we know, LeBron had mastered the entire rulebook from front to back. Maybe there's a tequila clause in there somewhere, or possibly a GOAT exception when you're hanging out with someone named Michael Jordan? James has been religiously into his literature, after all.
One thing's for sure. LeBron James was definitely turning up the salsa music when he heard the good news. Salsa King knows when it's time to party.
But can Chris Paul sit still as LeBron gets away with things, when they're about to face-off in the playoffs? Hard to imagine.
Adam Silver probably won't get too much heat for allowing LeBron to play, but NBA Twitter won't let him get off without being bombarded with memes clowning him. It's the least he has to go through.

Game 1 for Lakers-Suns is on Sunday. Let's hope LeBron sticks to the protocols until then.
