Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery was in the midst of a big game against the Detroit Lions, but his day was cut short when he suffered a knee injury in the fourth quarter. Montgomery went down and stayed down in a lot of pain before limping to the locker room.

The Bears running back was ruled out for the rest of the game.

Montgomery had 23 carries for 106 yards and two touchdowns before leaving. The Bears running back has been one of the few legitimate bright spots for Chicago's offense so far this season, so it would be a huge bummer if he's out of a significant amount of time.

In addition to Montgomery's strong performance before the injury, Bears rookie Justin Fields bounced back nicely after his nightmare of a first NFL start against the Cleveland Browns last weekend. While the rookie didn't put up huge numbers, he connected on a number of big passing plays to set up Chicago for points. He completed 11-of-17 passes for 209 yards. He didn't throw a touchdown and did throw an interception thanks to a tipped pass, but it was a strong overall effort by the youngster.

After a 24-14 win, the Bears now have to hope Montgomery isn't hurt too bad.
