This past season, the Chicago Bears surprised everyone in the NFL by being one of the best teams in the league. They went 12-4 and finished first in the NFC North Division. Their defense led the league in takeaways and points off takeaways. The addition of Khalil Mack to the defense gave them the boost they needed to join the upper echelon of NFL franchises.

They led the league in fewest points allowed: only 17.7 per game. A big reason why their defense was so successful was safety Eddie Jackson. He came into his sophomore season with something to prove. He ended up being the best coverage free safety in the league. The Bears often played only Cover 1 because his instincts were hardly ever wrong.

Through 14 games, Jackson had six interceptions and took two of them to the end zone. He had 51 tackles and 15 pass deflections. His impact was as great as Mack's. In 2018, Mack had 12.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, and 10 tackles for a loss. The Bears' defense was just oozing talent. Kyle Fuller led the league in interceptions. Akiem Hicks graded out as one of the best nose tackles in the NFL. The amount of talent they had was ridiculous.

However, their offense wasn't quite as good. Sophomore quarterback Mitchell Trubisky was solid, but was largely a game manager with footspeed. He threw for 3,223 yards with 24 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. His completion percentage was 66.6 and his quarterback rating was a decent 72.8.

He had a few weapons around him, but not many. Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen represented a fine two-running back rotation, while Allen Robinson and Taylor Gabriel had solid years as well. However, they didn't really have a dynamic difference maker on offense.

Going into this offseason, the Bears need to make some moves to bring in elite talent for their offense. Here are some deals they could make.

1) Antonio Brown

Ryan Pace and Co. should be doing everything they can to trade for Brown.

He caught 104 passes for 1,297 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Steelers. Brown has had six straight seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards and 100 receptions.

Brown would complete the Bears' offense. His consistency matches the best wideouts ever. Brown has proven that he will get 1,000 yards and 100 receptions every season. His dependability with or without his ego is worth so much to a franchise which hasn’t had a great wide receiver in years.

2) Nelson Agholor

Nelson Agholor of the Philadelphia Eagles would be a perfect fit in the Bears' offense. Agholor is an excellent wideout who is one of the most consistent receivers in the NFL. The 25-year-old has had over 60 receptions and 700 receiving yards in each of the past two seasons.

Agholor has a 66-percent catching rate and has caught 12 touchdowns the past two years. Adding him will provide Trubisky enough offensive firepower.

3) John Ross

John Ross of the Cincinnati Bengals is reportedly on the trading block. He set the NFL Combine record by running a 4.22 40-yard dash. The Bengals selected him with the ninth pick in the 2017 draft. He has appeared in only three games and didn't catch a pass until his second NFL season.
Ross finished the 2018 season with 21 catches for 210 yards. Given the chance, he could succeed elsewhere in a designated role. Matt Nagy could utilize him well as a downfield threat in the Bears' offensive scheme.
