Jungle Boy has been off of AEW television since losing the AEW World Tag Team Championships on the June 15th episode of Dynamite. However, that changed Wednesday night.
The AEW star made his return to the company following a tag team match between former associates Christian Cage and Luchasaurus against The Varsity Blondes. Cage picked up the pinfall after Luchasaurus did all the heavy lifting.
Jungle Boy's music hit, and the former World Tag Team Champion was greeted with a huge ovation from the Atlanta crowd. He strolled down to the ring, steel chair in hand.
Luchasaurus, on Cage's orders, confronted his former tag team partner. The two stared each other down a bit before Luchasaurus stood by Jungle Boy's side.
The 25-year-old chased the wrestling legend out of the ring. When Cage fled through the crowd, Jungle Boy gave chase.
The issues between Jungle Boy and Cage have been brewing since that Tag Team Championship loss. The titles were lost to the Young Bucks in a three-way ladder match, Cage's specialty.
Following the match, Cage came to the ring to check on his associates. After seemingly helping Jungle Boy, the wrestling legend attacked the 25-year-old. After the show went off the air, Cage verbally berated Jungle Boy's mom and sister.
The attacks on Jungle Boy's family didn't stop there. The following week on Dynamite, Cage went after Jungle Boy's father, Luke Perry. Perry passed away in 2019, a fact Cage wouldn't let anyone forget. Cage told the crowd that Perry would be ashamed of his son after what the wrestling legend did to him a week prior.
The inevitable collision between Jungle Boy and Cage will surely be one to keep an eye on if you're a wrestling fan.
