Allen Iverson made a lot of headlines on Sunday when he was a no-show during Week 6 action of the Big3 League in Dallas. An investigation was even made by the three-on-three league to find out his exact whereabouts and reason for skipping the game of the 3’s Company, the team he co-captains and coaches. Only a day after the news came out, speculations have already emerged on the reason why he did not show up.

According to a piece made by TMZ Sports, the former NBA MVP was apparently involved in a gambling spree in Chicago over the weekend. Photos were also published in their report, where he was seen gambling with a lot of money, and spotted in a restaurant more than two miles away from the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, IL, wearing the same clothes he wore the previous day.

“Allen Iverson was gambling in a Chicago area casino hours before he blew off a BIG3 basketball league game in Dallas over the weekend … TMZ Sports has learned.”

“Iverson was first spotted at the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, IL on Saturday night into early Sunday morning. One witness says AI was still in the building at 3 AM.”

“Hours later, Iverson surfaced at the Sugar Factory restaurant (around 10 PM on Sunday — wearing the same clothes he'd been wearing at the casino in the days before. Fans who recognized him asked for photos, but he refused.”

The Big3 League, including its founder, rapper and actor Ice Cube, has yet to make an official statement after the report from TMZ came out. However, it can be expected that they will make one soon, and could even announce what kind of sanctions or disciplinary actions will be given to Iverson.

The Answer was also part of some negative news during his NBA career, and even received some fines from the league office back then. That said, he is no stranger to controversies such as this, but his fans are hopeful that he has a good explanation for his recent actions, especially being a Hall-of-Famer now, where better judgement is expected from him.
