Actress Amanda Bynes called 911 on herself after roaming the streets of Los Angeles naked on Sunday, per TMZ. Bynes is now hospitalized and placed on Psychiatric Hold.

Bynes deserves credit for recognizing the problem and calling 911 on herself. TMZ also reports that a Psychiatric Hold usually lasts 72 hours but can extend longer based on the circumstances.

Bynes has struggled with her mental health in the past. She's also dealt with a number of different incidents over the years. In addition to her mental health, Bynes has had trouble with substance abuse.

Amanda Bynes had previously filed to end a court conservatorship after claiming that her mental health concerns were in check. She felt as if it had improved enough to move on from the conservatorship. However, that was filed just a year ago.

Bynes, 36, began her career as a child actress. She emerged as a star for Nickelodeon in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She was most known for The Amanda Show during that time period.

She's starred in other shows since, but also broke through on the movie scene. Amanda Bynes' most notable movies include Big Fat Liar, Hairspray, She's the Man, and Easy A. She hasn't acted much since 2010 due to her aforementioned struggles with mental health and substances abuse.

People all over social media have reacted to the Amanda Bynes news. Erika Hersteria commended the actress for calling 911 on herself.

“i find it really disrespectful that the headlines say Amanda Bynes was ‘found' naked and alone and ‘placed' on a psychiatric hold – removing her agency. she was able to recognize that she was in psychosis, ask someone for help, and call 911 herself. that's f**king impressive,” Hersteria wrote on Twitter.
