Thursday Night Football will still be around for the next five years after the NFL agreed to a television broadcast deal with Fox worth more than $3 billion. However, the NFL is still in search of a streaming partner for the franchise.

According to a report by Variety, there are four big companies currently in the bidding war for that valuable rights deal. Amazon, YouTube, Twitter and Verizon seem to be the front-runners to become the official streaming platform for TNF.

With technology growing every day, viewers are getting attracted to the easy to view games on social media platforms. Two years ago, Twitter was the first to stream the TNF games with it becoming a hit with the fans from the first start of the games. However, last year Twitter could not compete with Amazon in the bidding war as the latter took control of the live streaming games.

According to Pro Football Talk, Amazon had a higher viewing rate than Twitter and said streams reached 17 more percent more of viewers. With the rise of fans and easy to access games via social media platforms, this is another opportunity for the National Football League to make even more money.

With T.V. contracts still stealing the show with their huge fees, streaming rights are slowly making their way into the industry. It is fast and easy to access via any mobile device.
