Jose Altuve and the Houston Astros haven't heard the end of it from loud New York Yankees fans who have been berating them all week due to the infamous cheating scandal. Altuve himself has been a main target of the ire from fans.

Well, Altuve got a bit of revenge on Thursday.

On his 31st birthday, the Astros star went deep off Yankees reliever Chad Green for a three-run bomb in the top of the eighth inning to give his team a 5-3 advantage. This is a good way to spend a birthday:

The Yankees did get a run back in the bottom of the eighth inning, but Houston will still try to secure a key victory on Thursday after losing the first two games of the series. The Astros entered play Thursday losers of three straight to drop to 15-15 on the 2021 season.

Altuve is off to a rough start this season. The Astros have been getting bombarded with boos and insults everywhere they go, and the diminutive second baseman also dealt with COVID-19 earlier in the year. His home run against the Yankees was just his second of the season. The 31-year-old entered Thursday's game hitting just .247 with a .289 OBP.
