The Chicago Bears have been dealing with a chaotic stretch lately, with rumors swirling that head coach Matt Nagy was going to be fired following the Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions. Well, Bears players apparently took these rumors very seriously, as evidenced by NFL reporter Jay Glazer's recent update.

The Bears basically said that they didn't believe the Matt Nagy reports, so they reportedly didn't address it with the players, who were slated for walkthroughs. Just imagine Justin Fields in the middle of stretching while nudging David Montgomery and asking him if Nagy is staying or going.

Well, as Glazer eloquently put it, the report “took on a life of its own.” Nagy addressed the players and coaches following the walkthrough and spoke about how the reports of his firing weren't true, though the players got the impression that it was a solemn speech by Nagy.

Per Glazer, Bears players and coaches went up to Nagy after he spoke and told him things, such as how great it was to work with him. So, his own players actually believed that he was a goner.

Not sure what's worse. The Bears trying- and failing- to fully squash the Nagy reports, or the Bears players being so willing to accept that Nagy was going to be fired. Yikes.

Either way, this Glazer report is a look into the, ahem, awkward goings-on in the Bears locker room amid the Matt Nagy firing rumors.
