Fantasy football owners relying on Justin Fields heading into Week 12 may need to figure out some backup plans. The Chicago Bears quarterback exited Sunday's matchup against the Baltimore Ravens in the third quarter after sustaining a ribs injury. He did not return to the game and was replaced by backup QB Andy Dalton, who nearly delivered some last-minute heroics.

Fields' status for Week 12 is up in the air, although early reports on his ribs have been positive. Per NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Fields isn't believed to have sustained a major injury to his ribs during Sunday's game. The Bears will be playing on Thanksgiving Day against the Detroit Lions, however, so he'll be up against the clock to heal up by then.

It's a quick turnaround for the 22-year-old, and the Bears may well decide to leave him on the sideline in favor of Dalton in order to prevent further aggravating the rookie's injury. Fields didn't look overly impressive on Sunday before sustaining the injury. He had completed just 4-of-11 pass attempts for a pedestrian 79 passing yards. While he usually provides significant fantasy value through his ability to run with the ball, Fields added just 23 rushing yards on four carries.

If Fields isn't able to suit up on Thursday, Andy Dalton figures to make his third start of the year for Chicago and could be a viable fantasy option against a lowly Detroit Lions defense. The Bears may also lean even more heavily on their rushing attack, which is of course spearheaded by running back David Montgomery, who returned from IR in Week 9.
