Leave it to Rex Ryan to have no compassion for a 26-year-old kid receiving death threats.

On the ESPN show Get Up on Monday morning, the former New York Jets and Buffalo Bills head coach said that he does not feel sorry for Chicago Bears kicker Cody Parkey after he missed a 43-yard field goal (which was tipped by the way, Rex) that would have won the game against the Philadelphia Eagles in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs on Sunday evening:

Again, the kick was actually tipped by Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Treyvon Hester, which resulted in the ball changing direction and ricocheting off of the upright and then bouncing off the crossbar before landing back on the field.

So, Rex, how about also placing some blame on the offensive linemen for allowing the block to happen to begin with?

That's first of all.

Second, you're right in that he has a job to do, but does that mean the kid should be receiving death threats for missing a field goal in a game that is rather meaningless in the grand scheme of things?

Perhaps this is why Ryan is no longer coaching, and maybe this is why he had no control over his locker room during his final couple of seasons with the Jets.

In eight seasons between the Jets and the Bills, Ryan went 61-66, making a couple of playoff appearances during his first two years in New York before failing to post a winning record during his final six seasons as a head coach.
