It's no secret the Chicago Bears have been pushing for a trade with the Seattle Seahawks for Russell Wilson. However, Pete Carroll has the final say on trades and prevented the deal from getting done despite the Bears making an all-in push.

The Bears need help at quarterback, and they made a huge offer in their attempt to land Wilson. The offer? According to Dan Patrick, Chicago offered three first-round picks, a third-round pick, and two starters, whose names were not mentioned.

Patrick explains the situation below:

That would've been a haul for the Seahawks, however, they'd be in a position to be searching for a new quarterback, which isn't something Pete Carroll is interested in doing. They'd possibly be in a rebuild situation, and with Carroll being 69 years old, it's not like he has the time to rebuild a franchise right now. Seattle also doesn't have its own first-round pick in 2021.

Chicago tried and failed, which resulted in them settling for Andy Dalton as Mitchell Trubisky likely heads out the door. It's a true heartbreaker for Bears fans, as they've been dealing with quarterback troubles for what seems like forever.

Wilson would have undoubtedly made the Bears a much better team. Landing Wilson would have lifted Allen Robinson's spirits as well, giving Chicago a legitimate offense for the 2021 season after a disappointing 8-8 campaign that ended with them getting smoked by the New Orleans Saints in the playoffs.

Instead, because Pete Carroll has the final say on trades in Seattle, the trade fell through. After declining a deal like that, it appears as though the Seahawks won't be trading Wilson away this offseason, though there are some rumblings that it could still happen depending on how things play out. Still, Chicago's aggressive offer is likely to be the best Seattle sees for now.
