It was only a year ago that Portland Trail Blazers guard CJ McCollum was interacting with fans shortly after getting swept off the first round by the New Orleans Pelicans to end his 2017-18 season.

Jennifer Williams, a Twitter fan, taunted him, asking him to โ€œwin a playoff game, then talk.โ€

Clearly, McCollum took that more as a challenge than a taunt โ€” and the internet did not forget.

Neither did the media after the Blazers grabbed a 104-99 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday.

ESPN's Royce Young was quick to bring that question right out of the gate: โ€œCJ, do you have anything you'd like to say to Jennifer?โ€

โ€œ(Laughs) No man. Aw man, I appreciate her, she's probably a nice young lady.โ€

It didn't take long for McCollum to give props to Jennifer herself back in the Twitterverse.

As for her, this type of rapid response had had fans of different NBA teams asking her to speak some sense into their own players and ball clubs, given the quick impact of her words after McCollum delivered a 24-point performance to lift the third-seeded Blazers over the Thunder.

Needless to say, she's feeling herself after Sunday.

The Blazers backcourt of Damian Lillard and McCollum were able to count on some help besides themselves, getting a 20-point, 18-rebound monster double-double from Enes Kanter, one that ultimately helped them outscore a Thunder team that was out of options after a 5-of-33 shooting night from beyond the arc.

God bless Jennifer.
