The Portland Trail Blazers have honored Los Angeles Lakers legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna with a moving tribute video.

The Blazers face off against the Lakers on Friday. This is L.A.'s first game since Bryant and his daughter tragically passed away in a helicopter crash:

Bryant had a few connections to the Blazers franchise. He was essentially brothers with Carmelo Anthony and always loved competing against star point guard Damian Lillard. During his playing days, Kobe always used to go off against the Blazers, especially during his younger days when he was still wearing No. 8 and rocking the Afro.

The Blazers are 21-27 on the season and in 10th place in the Western Conference standings. Anthony won't play on Friday since he's still processing Kobe's death. It's going to be an emotional scene on Friday at Staples Center. Tears will be shed by players and the fans in attendance. Kobe was more than just a basketball player to Los Angeles. He was a hero and idol to a lot of the players who are dominating the league today.

The Kobe tributes figure to last all season long. The NBA hasn't lost an icon like this to a tragedy in years. The Blazers are doing their part to honor the life and legacy of Bryant and Gigi, and the Lakers surely appreciate it.
