Toronto Blue Jays superstar Vladimir Guerrero Jr. enjoyed a performance for the ages against the New York Yankees at Yankee Stadium on Wednesday night. Guerrero bashed three home runs, including two off Yankees ace Gerrit Cole, and his final two dingers of the night came after he had his hand spiked at first base in the second inning. Oh, he also doubled off Cole as well after getting spiked.

After the Ruthian display of hitting, which came in a 6-4 Blue Jays win, Vlad Jr.'s dad, the legendary Vladimir Guerrero, took to Twitter to celebrate his son:

This kid was absolutely on fire, making one of the best pitchers in the game look like a bum on his home mound. That he also torched Cole after getting spiked only adds to his growing legend, which already features two games with three home runs at just 23 years old.

Vladimir Guerrero should be a proud papa watching his son mash like this in the majors. The Blue Jays star came second in MVP voting last season after bashing 48 home runs, and now he's trying to finish the job in 2022. After Wednesday's performance, he's slashing .391/.417/.957 with four home runs and eight RBI. Toronto is off to a 4-2 start to sit atop the AL East, and as long as Vlad Jr. stays healthy, he will be right in the mix for MVP once again.

This kid is truly a delight to watch play, and he's going to be one of the faces of MLB for a long time. Baseball fans should appreciate just how great he is already and how he's living up to the hype after the Hall of Fame career of his dad.
