The Washington Wizards have started this season with three straight losses and are one of only four teams left without a win.

Even with the hole they have dug themselves in at this point of the season, their starting shooting guard, Bradley Beal, knows that the Wizards are better than what their record shows. He also believes that their 0-3 standing should be the other way around. Per The Washington Post's Candace Buckner:

“We know we're better than 0-3. I feel like we should be 3-0 right now, but we gave up some tough games. The crazy thing is we know what we're doing wrong. It's just a matter of us just doing it.”

On Wednesday night, the Wizards played their home opener but lost against a tough Toronto Raptors squad, 113-103. DeMar Derozan had a huge game as he scored 40 points and added five rebounds to go with five assists. Beal had this to say about the player he defended that night:

“Kinda gave him whatever he wanted and he just took advantage of it.”

The good news for the Wizards and their fans is it's still the early days of the season. They also have a very good coach in Scott Brooks who knows a thing or two about turning a campaign around. But most importantly, Beal understands that their fate is in their hands and egos should never be in the way of their success.

“You got to stay together. We're the only ones who can pull us out of this 0-3 start. Nobody else can do it for us. It's a matter of us staying together as a team because when we drift apart, everything breaks down. Then that's when egos come in; that's when attitudes (come) and everybody drifts away. It's important for us to stay together.”

If they want to turn their fortunes around, it all starts with sharing the basketball and limiting their turnovers. Brooks and company would need to find a way to solve their problems and bring a positive mindset back to the players. If they'd be able to do that, all is still not lost as they still have 79 games to go this season and given the talent they have on the roster, it won't be surprising at all if they string a few wins together soon.
