Bradley Beal shows LeBron James how to get it done with clutch OT basket

Bradley Beal, LeBron James, Wizards, Lakers, Russell Westbrook

Bradley Beal just put on a clutch clinic in the Washington Wizards’ visit to Staples Center. Beal scored six of the Wizards’ 12 points in overtime, including a huge floater to ice the game against LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers, 127-124. Don’t look now but the Wizards, who got laughed at by almost everyone, are on a five-game winning streak.

Beal kept the Lakers at bay in OT with a critical bucket and the All-Star guard also made sure to remind Alex Caruso that he’s way too small.

The Lakers blew a first half advantage as the Wizards surged behind their fiery backcourt of Beal and former MVP Russell Westbrook. The two combined for a whopping 65 points with Beal notching a game-high of 33 markers. Westbrook, for his part, finished with a near triple-double with 32 points, 14 rebounds, and nine assists.

LeBron had an opportunity to put the game away in regulation after he played bully ball against Westbrook. The King tied the game with under 10 seconds to go and was fouled by Westbrook in the process. Unfortunately, LeBron missed what could’ve been the game-winning free throw and the fourth period ended with both teams tied at 115.

Unlike LeBron though, Beal made sure he didn’t miss his opportunity. His late basket ultimately helped the Wizards seal another big win on the road. Despite their lowly start to the season, the Wizards have slowly gotten back to their winning ways recently with huge wins against the Boston Celtics, the Denver Nuggets, and the Portland Trail Blazers.

Bradley Beal and company have now added the defending champions to their recent hit list and are looking to continue their strong run against the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday.
