One day after quarterback Baker Mayfield threw for 334 yards and four touchdowns against the Tennessee Titans, the Cleveland Browns are adding more weapons for him to use.

Cleveland claimed former Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Hall off waivers, the team announced Monday.

It did not take Marvin Hall very long to find a new home after being waived over the weekend.

The 27-year-old showed flashes with the Lions, including a 113-yard outing against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 8. Ultimately, however, Hall was unable to cement himself as a legitimate threat in Detroit's passing game.

Cleveland will hope the L.A. native can be an impactful home run threat alongside guys like Rashard “Hollywood” Higgins, who is averaging 16.0 yards per catch this season. The Browns appear to be accumulating big-play ability to try and make up for the continued absence of Odell Beckham Jr.

Meanwhile, Mayfield is coming off his best performance of the year. The former No. 1 overall pick has mostly been a game manager and has also been criticized for missing some easy throws.

However, Mayfield is still putting together a solid year, throwing for 2,442 yards and 21 touchdowns against seven interceptions. The former Oklahoma star has also posted consecutive outings with a quarterback rating of at least 116.7, which bodes well for his confidence.

Although Hall might not be the flashiest of additions to the passing game, he is still a speedster who can get over the top of secondaries, something Mayfield and the Browns (9-3) could use in the final quarter of the year.

Cleveland can already run the ball at a high level. If Hall can play a role in helping to kick the passing attack into gear, the Browns will be better for it.
