Yikes. Well this is pretty awkward. By now, everyone has seen Cleveland Browns star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. handing out wads of cash to LSU players after they beat Clemson in the National Championship game.

LSU came out immediately and said the money was fake. However, it appears they were lying (duh).

Straight from Joe Burrow right there.

Let's be honest, everyone knew it was real money. But if LSU denied it there was really no way to prove it.

Burrow is not denying it though, as he's not a “student athlete” anymore. This could mean trouble for his teammates that are still student athletes though.

It could also mean trouble for LSU and even Odell Beckham Jr. if we're being honest. It's hard to feel bad for Beckham Jr. in this situation though. He was handing money to players with thousands of cameras around. It wasn't even like he was trying to hide it.

There's a very good chance the NCAA decides to do nothing with this though. Everyone else can still deny that it was real money. It would probably take way too much effort for the NCAA to end up getting a few people taking a couple hundred dollars. Likely not worth the backlash they would get.

Burrow seems to be having fun though. He is a National Champion, a Heisman winner, and will be the first pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. It's hard for life to get much better for the kid.

So of course he's going to go on Pardon My Take and not be scared to talk about anything at this point. He's bullet proof.
