Current Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator George Edwards may be heading to the Sunshine State:
The #Bucs have requested an interview with #Vikings DC George Edwards for their head coaching job, per sources. Trusted assistant of Mike Zimmer, has a big role in game planning. Interviewed with #Bears last year and impressed.

This is the second Vikings assistant coach who has gotten a request for an interview. Earlier in the week, offensive coordinator Kevin Stefanski was requested for an interview by the Cleveland Browns for their head coaching position.
The Buccaneers' head coaching position opened up after they fired their previous head coach, Dirk Koetter, on Sunday, after their season finale loss.
George Edwards has proven to be invaluable to the Minnesota Vikings. In 2014, he came on board when Mike Zimmer became the team's head coach. Prior to his tenure with the Vikings, Edwards had worked with Zimmer when Zimmer was the defensive coordinator of the Dallas Cowboys.
But Edwards is also a rather in-demand coach, given that — per Pelissero — he also interviewed for the Chicago Bears' head coaching position last season. (The team was noted to be “duly impressed.”) Ultimately, the Bears gave the head coaching position to Matt Nagy.
In addition to his positions serving with Zimmer, George Edwards has a long and storied career with the NFL. Since 1998, he has served as an assistant head coach for six different teams. He was also the defensive coordinator for the Washington Redskins in 2003, and for the Buffalo Bills in 2010 and 2011.
