Retired NBA swingman Vince Carter believes Giannis Antetokounmpo is limiting himself by settling on jump shots, though he understands why the Milwaukee Bucks star is doing it.

In his latest appearance on ESPN, Carter was asked about Giannis and his limitations–particularly his shooting and free-throws–despite having already won two MVPs and a Defensive Player of the Year award. After all, it's hard to think of anyone like the Greek Freak who has already achieved so much but still lacking in some major areas.

According to Carter, the Bucks forward is already difficult to stop when he is going downhill, but the fact of the matter is he still needs to work on his outside game to get to that next level. This is the same reason why his biggest limitation is being highlighted even more.

“When Giannis is aggressive and downhill, there's not many that can stop him. I think he limits himself because he settles for jump shots sometimes. But think about it, as players when you're working on the next facet of your game–for him, the jump shot outside of the paint, the 3-point shot–at some point, you have to see if it works in the game,” Carter shared.

Indeed, while Giannis Antetokounmpo is a dominant force near the basket, his shooting leaves much to be desired. Not to mention his free-throw shooting that has frustrated many not just because of his routine.

As Vince Carter said it, though, the Bucks leader needs that experience to be more comfortable about his growing game. Even though it could be disappointing to see Giannis fail multiple times with his jump shot, the good thing is that he is not losing confidence and he keeps on trying until he makes it his own.

Hopefully for the Bucks, all that work Giannis has put in will pay off when they take on the Phoenix Suns in the NBA Finals.
