Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo and his brothers have donated 20,000 protective face masks in their native Greece.

The Antetokounmpo family shared them among the cities of Athens and Zografou, a suburb of Athens, according to EuroHoops.

“I’d like to thank the Antetokounmpo brothers for their generous donation that becomes even greater since it takes place in difficult times for the whole planet. With their donation, they confirm that they don’t forget our city and, as we’ve announced, when the coronavirus nightmare has gone, the Municipality of Zografou will honor Giannis and his brothers appropriately,” Zografou Mayor Vassilis Thodas said of the donation.

The masks will be distributed to the workers of the municipality and citizens that are the most vulnerable to the novel coronavirus.

The Bucks superstar and his older brother Thanasis played for the senior team of Filathlitikos (located in Zografou) in 2012-13 after coming up from its youth squad. Their younger brothers, Kostas and Alex, also played for the junior team.

Filathlitikos' gym was renamed to AntetokounBros Municipal Gymnasium in 2019 after the brothers' constant contributions.

This is one of the latest acts of kindness from NBA stars. Antetokounmmpo is still in Milwaukee, as players are not allowed to leave the United States until the travel restrictions are lifted and the NBA deems it safe to return.
