When the Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Los Angeles Lakers with 111-104 being the final score, a message was sent by Giannis Antetokounmpo to LeBron James.

In fact, NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal believes it was made clear to James by Antetokounmpo that he is now the ‘king’ of the NBA by dropping 34 points, 11 rebounds, and seven assists with a career-high five made three-pointers.

“Giannis [Antetokounmpo] is saying you have been the king for a long time; it’s my league now. Listen, he has been playing fabulous; we don’t like him shooting that three, but if you are going to knock five down five-threes, we can’t say nothing to you,” said O’Neal, via Landon Buford of Heavy.com.

The NBA recently had been significantly influenced by the excellence of LeBron James since he decided to take his talents to South Beach. Since making the NBA Finals with the Miami Heat in 2010-11, James led teams had won the Eastern Conference Finals for eight consecutive seasons with three resulting in championships.

Between a groin injury and an underwhelming Lakers roster, James’ streak of consecutive NBA Finals appearance came to a close in 2018-19. However, after Los Angeles acquired Anthony Davis from the New Orleans Pelicans over the summer, they currently have a 24-5 record, which is the best in the Western Conference.

The greatness of James and his Lakers team this season could be overshadowed by a Bucks squad led by Antetokounmpo when it’s all said and done. Both teams look very strong but “The Greek Freak” seems primed to win another MVP and this time, his team could make it over the hump in the playoffs.
