There has been a lot of controversy surrounding Jabari Parker's situation with the Chicago Bulls.

Parker, the former second overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft hasn't been part of the Bulls' regular rotation since early December, when head coach Jim Boylen decided to bench him. In fact, he's only seen a total of 14 minutes for the Bulls since the 15th of last month.

But this is not an indication that Parker is a bad player. In fact, he's put up 17.4 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists for the Bulls in November. A lot of people saw this as the rejuvenation of the 23-year-old's career.

Which is why it has been a surprise for some that Jabari's role for Chicago has suddenly changed.

According to the Chicago Tribune's KC Johnson, players from opposing teams usually talk about Parker when they play the Bulls.

Players from other teams have noticed. Even after two ACL surgeries, Parker is a former No. 2 pick whose offensive prowess is recognized. His benching is one of the first subjects players from other teams raise when they’re talking casually about the Bulls.

Coach Boylen cited Parker's defensive efforts as part of the reason why they benched him. Chandler Hutchison took over Jabari's role, while Shaquille Harrison serves as his backup. These two are averaging a combined 10.7 points, and 7.3 boards.
