Chicago Bulls swingman Otto Porter Jr. underwent a repeat MRI of his left foot on Wednesday, Dec. 4, revealing continued bone edema. After a short period of immobilization, Porter is slated to resume a program of non-impact activities and consequent therapy, according to the team.

Porter will also be evaluated by Dr. Bob Anderson, a foot and ankle specialist in Green Bay, Wisconsin, then set to be re-evaluated in two weeks.

The 6-foot-8 wing has not appeared in a game since Nov. 6 and has missed the team's last 13 games with this foot injury, one that had been clearly bothering him through a slow start to the season.

Porter is averaging 11.2 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game while shooting 41.7% from the field and 40%  from deep, a stark contrast of the 17.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.7 assists he posted with the Bulls through 15 games last season.

The Bulls were hoping the lanky two-way forward would play a critical role, aiding star Zach LaVine and a young core of players find their footing with promising talent at hand, but Chicago has labored through an 8-14 start, leaving many questions about the structure and what's ahead for an organization that seems discombobulated after a less-than-pleasant start.

Thaddeus Young is expected to see some action at small forward while Porter is out, though he won't be in uniform on Friday for personal reasons (per K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago) as the Bulls take on the Golden State Warriors for the second time in five games.
