It's official: DeMar DeRozan is an NBA All-Star starter. The Chicago Bulls superstar has been absolutely dominant this season, propelling the team to multiple clutch wins. He's been the franchise's solid foundation, as they're looking to make a deep postseason run and win another championship.

After his selection, Bulls teammate Zach LaVine made sure to announce DeMar DeRozan's All-Star status in the most extravagant way possible. As the team was flying on their plane, LaVine took the plane's intercom and announced to the team DeRozan's All-Star berth as if he was the pilot. (via Twitter)

DeRozan's exploits this season have been phenomenal. He headed to the Bulls after a brief stint with the Spurs, as Chicago was looking to usher in a new era of excellence. The Compton native delivered and then some, grabbing career-highs in points per game while propelling the offense to new heights. His excellence in the clutch only further solidified his All-Star status.

However, Bulls fans likely are wishing that Zach LaVine should've made the All-Star starting team as well. The ex-Timberwolves guard has been the 1B to DeRozan's 1A this season, torching defenses with his deep-ball and slashing. He's a sure-fire lock to be named as a reserve soon, but there's a legitimate argument that he should've started.

Despite the All-Star start snub, the Bulls are more than happy for their top acquisition. His All-Star starter berth is the ultimate justification for a move that had many fans confused in the first place. Hopefully, DeRozan can continue his All-Star (and fringe MVP) play well into the playoffs.
