The Chicago Bulls successfully got out of a bad situation and traded Nikola Mirotic, and got Omer Asik, Jameer Nelson, Tony Allen and a first-round pick. Essentially, the Bulls traded away someone who doesn't want to be there for three players who they can decide what to do with.

But it appears the Bulls are not wheeling and dealing. Chicago is still “very active” in the trade market, per K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune.

The Bulls still being active is not surprising. There's no way they would've stopped at just trading Mirotic.

Luckily for the Bulls, they have some young players on their roster that they can use as trade pieces. Players like Denzel Valentine, Kris Dunn, Zach LaVine are just a few of the team's intriguing pieces, but are very unlikely to be dealt prior to the deadline.

The question is why do the Bulls want to continue their trade activity. The team is young and has been playing better lately, and the organization can decide to just stick with this group and see if something materializes from their current players.

On the other hand, the Bulls players making waves lately could put the team in a better position to trade those exact same players. The key at the trade deadline is getting players that have a lot of value. Earlier in the season, not many of Chicago's players had much value at all because the team was losing and no one was really playing well.

But now, the Bulls have some momentum and those young players have been at the center of it. Maybe the Bulls are looking to get a difference-making veteran for some of those young players.

For the right player, that is the smartest move for the Bulls.
