The Arizona Cardinals head to Los Angeles to face the division rival Rams in the last NFC Wild Card playoff game Monday night. It will be Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray's first playoff start of his pro career. Murray spoke to the media on Thursday, and talked about what he would like to do, as noted by Darren Urban.

“I always wanted to be like the guys that everybody watched. They … usually played the best in the big-time games. If you want to be that guy, that's what you've got to do.”

It's hard to argue with that sentiment. The legends of the game at his position are the guys that have stepped up in the biggest moments. Tom Brady is still doing that at 44 years old. Joe Montana was 4-0 in Super Bowls and played as perfect as you possibly can.

If Murray wants to take the next step in his career and become one of the premier, elite quarterbacks in this league, it starts with Monday's game against the Rams. It will not be easy.

Arizona has backed their way into the playoffs. They have lost four of their last five games, including a game against these Rams. But what makes this especially difficult is that Murray will need to carry the offense without his best weapon, DeAndre Hopkins.

Since Hopkins joined Arizona last season, the connection was immediate and almost impossible to stop. However, since coming back from an injury of his own, Murray has been inconsistent under center.
