It's been a drama-filled offseason for the Arizona Cardinals and we're only in the beginning of March. It all started when Kyler Murray scrubbed his social media, then not long ago his agent submitted a lengthy statement regarding his contract. Since then, rumors have swirled around the club's unhappiness with the star quarterback. However, it sounds like the franchise is willing to work it out with Murray, after all.

According to Josh Weinfuss, “the Cardinals aren't taking trade calls for Kyler Murray.” At the end of the day, it would be incredibly surprising if Arizona dealt their star quarterback away. Although there could be some drama stirring up within the franchise, the smartest decision is to mend the relationship and push forward.

As of now, the Cardinals hold all of the leverage in any contract negotiations with Kyler Murray. He's still on his rookie deal in 2022 and Arizona will have the leisure to pick up his fifth-year option in 2023. It could be a couple of years before Murray receives the contract he wants, but if he's patient he'll eventually receive a big payday.

Head coach Kliff Kingsbury just signed a contract extension himself, so maybe the Cardinals will give one to Kyler Murray soon as well. Either way, Arizona is not fielding calls to trade Murray, as he's one of the league's best young quarterbacks.

We'll see how this offseason plays out, but we should see Kyler Murray under center in Arizona next season. Trading him away would be foolish and the Cardinals likely already know that. Keep an eye on this franchise as the front office has an opportunity to stack the roster with some serious talent.
