It is no secret that the Arizona Cardinals are in the midst of an abysmal 2018 NFL season. As a result, the spotlight has now been focused on the development of quarterback Josh Rosen.

One of the biggest concerns is the number of hits Rosen has taken since being named the starter. However, he is more concerned with becoming a source of stability for Arizona, via Darren Urban of the team's official website:

“Regardless of what happens, you have to approach every situation in life, every snap, every day at the facility … the same as if everything is going great or if everything is going poorly,” Rosen said. “It’s about consistency. You kind of want to be a rock for other guys who may be looking for some sort of steadying force.”

It is encouraging to see Rosen is taking an optimistic approach to this disastrous year. These are the type of leadership qualities the Cardinals were looking for when they drafted him with the 10th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. He is coming off a rough outing versus the Kansas City Chiefs. The rookie completed 22-of-39 passes for 208 yards, a touchdown, and two interceptions. However, his struggles can be attributed to the hounding pressure he faced after being sacked five times.

There is no question that developing a potential franchise quarterback is the most vital component to a team's success in today's NFL. However, that is much more difficult to do without a strong supporting cast. Rosen and running back David Johnson have toiled away in this lackluster offense. Although both players have remained relatively optimistic amidst their struggles, it is safe to say that some changes are on the way if the team does not improve.
