As the season winds down, it seems more and more likely that this will be Carmelo Anthony‘s last year with the New York Knicks.

Anthony was in a plethora of rumors before the NBA's trade deadline in February. However with Anthony's no trade-clause and team president Phil Jackson's unwillingness to talk with him about his future with the team, the Knicks All-Star still remains in New York. But now with the Knicks having yet another disappointing season and failing to reach the playoffs for the fourth straight year, Anthony seems to be changing his tune. Or at least, that's what it seems like, since Anthony is talking rather nonsensically.

Speaking with reporters on Monday, Anthony delivered a number of rather bizarre quotes in relation to his future with the Knicks. Like this quote where he basically says he doesn't know what will happen but explains this in an extremely roundabout way:

And then there's this from Anthony about his upcoming end of season meeting with Jackson (via Mike Vorkunov of the New York Times):

Looking forward to the final meeting (with Phil) at the end of the season?

Pretty sure the chips will be on the table. The chips will be on the table in that meeting. Honestly, I don’t know what to expect but I got a good feeling.

You got a good feeling?

Yeah. The chips will be on the table.

This is also rather cryptic and not that informative. But with the way things are going between Anthony and Jackson, it seems fair to guess that an airing of grievances and perhaps even an agreement to part ways could happen when the two meet.

Whether or not Anthony actually gets traded from the Knicks is all up to him though. Anthony has the no-trade clause, so he essentially controls his own destiny.

A destiny that very likely could not be in New York starting next season.
