After a slow start to their season and a lot of changes especially on their defensive strategies, the New York Knicks‘ players, coaches, together with team president Phil Jackson, held a meeting on Saturday to discuss issues surrounding the team.

All-Star forward Carmelo Anthony said a lot was discussed which made it very productive. The meeting lasted for an hour and Jackson opted to just listen to them speak.

Some of the issues the team had over the past couple of weeks included the players' frustrations over the triangle offense as well as the changes with their defensive coach. It is believed that these were on top of the list of things they addressed during their meeting and all parties worked on a solution.

It's definitely a positive sign for the New York faithful as their team is trying to work things out with the hopes of turning their fortunes around soon and string some wins together. Their meeting may have been the reason why they were able to play at a higher level against the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday as they came out with a surprising win, 104-94.

Most importantly, the Knicks played better defensively as they were successful in limiting the Hawks to less than 100 points and had them shoot only 40 percent from the field.

If the team continues to play like how they did on Sunday, it could mean a start of a winning streak they badly need to get over .500 and compete for a playoff spot as the season progresses. With their competitive lineup and coming off a productive meeting, it won't be surprising if it would be the start of a major run from the team as they try to live up to the expectations placed on them before the season started.
