The Boston Celtics are 2-0 in their 2022 NBA Playoffs first-round series against the Brooklyn Nets. They've dominated the floor despite not having starting center Robert Williams available. Now, with Williams expected to make his 2022 playoff debut in Game 3, the Celtics are looking better than ever.

The news of Williams' return broke Friday, making Boston fans even more excited about their playoff run. This includes former Celtics star Kendrick Perkins, who expressed his extreme optimism on ESPN.

NBA on ESPN tweeted a clip of Perkins' bold Boston prediction Friday afternoon.

“You could book it right now, I'm calling it: the Celtics are going to win their title this year if Robert Williams is the same version that we've seen before his injury,” Perkins said.

He based his prediction on Williams' skills before he suffered a torn meniscus in late March, and on the Celtics' performance in the playoffs so far.

“Robert Williams coming back to this Celtics team the way that they're playing right now, to me, is my favorite to win it all.” He brought up the way that starters like Jayson Tatum, Jalen Brown, and Marcus Smart have been able to defend Nets stars Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant.

He also described the Celtics as an “offensive juggernaut.” By Perkins' logic, the Boston team should sweep the Nets, and bulldoze their way to the NBA title.
