Boston Celtics rookie Tacko Fall is sixth among frontcourt players in the Eastern Conference for All-Star voting. Head coach Brad Stevens says that shouldn't be the case, though he understands why.

Fall signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Celtics in July and had a productive Summer League showing. The 24-year-old was a big hit in Summer League with the fans, and he has already established himself as the next big thing in Boston.

Celtics big man Enes Kanter called Fall the “Senegalese Dirk” back in October. Kanter said Fall, who is 7-foot-7, has a “pretty good” turnaround jump shot, à la Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki.

Fall has appeared in just three games this season for the Celtics. He's averaging 4.3 points and 2.3 rebounds and shooting 75.0 percent from the field. As you can see from the voting results, Fall is already one of the most popular players in the league.

Odds are Fall won't make the All-Star game since the media and players have votes as well. Still, it is a funny story to track as the voting continues.

The Celtics are 23-8 on the season and appear on their way to redeeming themselves after last season’s dysfunctional campaign which saw them lose to the Milwaukee Bucks in the second round of the playoffs in five games.
