Boston Celtics head coach Brad Stevens says it's “great” for Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and Marcus Smart to get coached by Gregg Popovich on Team USA.

Popovich is arguably the greatest basketball coach of all-time. Stevens, who is a pretty good coach himself, thinks this experience will only make his four Celtics guys better basketball players moving forward.

“I just think it’s always great to hear consistent themes and messages all across the board,” Stevens said, via Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston. “Obviously, nobody’s a better communicator, nobody does that better than [Popovich]. It’s great for these guys.”

You're only going to become a more smart and polished basketball player after spending time with Gregg Popovich. The Celtics players are enjoying being around Popovich and hoping they will be part of the 12-man roster which will compete at the FIBA World Cup in China.

Kemba Walker, Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown figure to be locks to make the team. Marcus Smart, who is dealing with a calf injury, will be re-evaluated by doctors next week when Team USA heads to Los Angeles. His status for making the team is still up in the air, but the Celtics are hoping Smart makes it so he can get more reps in before Boston starts its training camp.
