It has been a miserable stretch for the Boston Celtics as the limp towards the finish line of the regular season. In their most recent contest, the Celtics lost to the underwhelming and otherwise awful Cleveland Cavaliers. The loss locked up a spot in the play-in tournament for Boston, something unimaginable at the start of the season. On Thursday, Danny Ainge voice his thoughts on everything going on while giving a vote of confidence for Brad Stevens.

Appearing on the Toucher and Rich morning show, Ainge was asked if Stevens is one of the issues so far this year.

ā€œOur job is to deal with the real issues, not perceived issues,ā€ Ainge said.

It's clear that Ainge does not believe Stevens is at the root of the problems for Boston and put to rest any notion of that being the case. He did however, make an interesting comment when asked if Boston could ā€œrun it backā€ next year with the same surrounding elements.

ā€œWe would definitely look to make some changes ā€¦ How significant? Weā€™ll see.ā€ ā€“ Danny Ainge on the Toucher and Rich morning show.

Things went from bad to worse for the Celtics recently when Jaylen Brown was ruled out for the year. With the playoffs right around the bend, Boston is playing some of their worst basketball of the year at the most inopportune of times.

There's still a chance they figure it out to an extent, but that's what Celtics fans have been waiting for all year and it still hasn't come to frutition.

Changes are likely to occur in the offseason for the Celtics but at least for now, don't expect one of those to be Brad Stevens heading out the door in Boston.
