Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal was gassed out after defending his fellow Missourian in Jayson Tatum for the majority of their game against the Boston Celtics. Beal managed to hold his own all throughout the tilt but admitted that Tatum has been a handful to contain on the floor.

“I’m strong, I can hold my own, but (expletive) there comes a point where there’s not much you can do,” Beal said via NBC Sports Washington’s Chase Hughes.

Beal carried a huge load on his shoulders against the Celtics after Russell Westbrook had a quiet outing where he only recorded 12 points, four rebounds, and eight assists.

Even while defending Tatum, Beal still managed to score 41 points on the day after his 60-point explosion against the Philadelphia 76ers. However, his efforts still went down the drain as Tatum came out with 32 points and five rebounds of his own. His running mate in Jaylen Brown also added 27 points and 13 rebounds for the Celtics.

The Wizards still attempted to make a late-game comeback but ultimately ran out of time to succumb to a 116-107 defeat. After the game, Washington found themselves on a two-game losing skid for a 2-7 record while Boston further improved to a 7-3 tally.

Indeed, the 22-year-old has been showing out with monster performances in the early stages of the season and will continue to haunt more opponents moving forward. Jayson Tatum and the rest of the Celtics will aim to snag their fifth consecutive victory as they host the Miami Heat on Jan. 10.
